Who/What/How:
- Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi (formerly Château de Santenay) was once the stately home of the first Duke of Burgundy, Philippe le Hardi, who received his duchy from his father, the King of France. This wine is not only steeped in history, but packed with a complex array of deeply concentrated flavours. High-end Burgundy, what else is there to say?
Taste:
- Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi Mercurey 1er Cru 'Les Puillets' is a true taste of luxury. In Les Puillets, the vines have an average age of 30 years old, where they sit in clay-rich soil. Both of these points point towards an elegantly structured wine with intense flavours. The wine has also spent 12 months in oak barrels to add a softness, as well as subtle spiced flavours which fill the mouth. Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi Mercurey 1er Cru 'Les Puillets' also still delivers on the fruit flavours with notes of rich cherry, super ripe raspberries and fresh red berries all coming through on the nose and palate.
