Whole Bunch Wines - It's On The House

House wines can be an easy choice, when you don't really know what you are looking for. You are at the mercy of the establishment in which you find yourself. This means that they can sometimes be a bit of a let down. However, Whole Bunch Wines cannot and WILL NOT, serve you duff wines.

Even our house wines are wines which we whole-heartedly stand behind. So, we wanted to give you a listen whistle-stop tour of the Whole Bunch staples. All of these are available by the glass or bottle - 5 days a week.

Red Wines

Neroperso Appassimento [£20.50]

The Appassimento method is used in the production of fine Amarone wines. Yet, it has also become increasingly popular with more classical dry wines. It takes grapes and partially dries them out on large wooden shelves. This concentrates the sugars and also adds subtle dried fruit flavours.

This wine is packed full of these dried fruit flavours, as well as notes of plums, blueberry, dark chocolate and coffee. A true fan favourite at Whole Bunch and a much beloved house wine. Rich, luscious and silky smooth.

Bodegas Vallemayor Rioja Crianza [£19.50]

Our good friends at Bodegas Vallemayor are purveyors of fine Rioja wines. This family-run 70 hectare vineyard focuses predominantly in Tempranillo, (as many Rioja vineyards do). The Crianza delivers those typical signs of oak ageing, such as vanilla. However, it is fresh, fruity and vibrant with strong notes of fresh red fruits.

Tucumen Cabernet Sauvignon [£16.50]

This is a wine that packs a punch, well above the price range. It is tannic, but balanced with acidity. It also has those intense notes of blackcurrant, alongside subtle touches of blackcurrant leaf and cassis. Everyone thinks of Malbec, when they think of Argentina. We think you should think of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rose Wines

Solas Reserve Rosé [£23]

Everyone loves a salmon pink glass of Provence rosé, but people have cottoned and this often demands a large price tag. We have found away around that, without sacrificing quality.

This stunner from Solas hails from the Languedoc region of France, (a broader area around Provence), and it delivers in exactly the same way. Pale pink, with a punchy acidity and waves of fresh red berries on the palate. This was made for a sunny afternoon.

White Wines

Solas Viognier [£24.50]

Another wonderful wines from the people at Solas. This time it is ultra-rich and unctuous Viognier. Low in acid, big in body and flavour. A true winter warmer white wine that can ABSOLUTELY be enjoyed all year around.

This is nothing but notes of honeysuckle and fresh peach and apricot. Viognier doesn't get the love it should do. Grab a glass of it with us and you won't look back.

Tres Gigantes Vinho Verde [£16.50]

Lightly effervescent and full of fun. Vinho Verde is the ultimate easy-drinking white wine. You'll be on bottle three before you know it...

Vinho Verde is light, crisp and a citrus heavy wine. Although, thanks to some particular ripe grapes you will also note some tropical fruit flavours, alongside fresher notes of citrus and green apple.

Taumata Sauvignon Blanc [£17.50]

This one is an absolute classic. New Zealand Savvy B is one of the UK's most-loved wine styles and we had to represent it on our menu. Taumata's version is exactly what you want - rich tropical fruit notes of passion fruit and melon.

Sparkling Wines

La Fea Cava [£21.50]

Cava - often a bit unassuming and a sad alternative to Champagne, well not here! Our Cava is still great value, but it really delivers on taste. Ripe citrus, crisp apples, white peach and layers of brioche and biscuit.

Bellino Prosecco [£18.50]

What kind of self-respecting wine bar would miss out on serving up some Prosecco? Great value, but packed full of notes of green apples, pears. Wonderfully refreshing and infinitely drinkable.

Champagne Tribaut Brut NV [£49]

You know we had to get a little bit fancy and throw in a HOUSE CHAMPAGNE. A house Champagne from Tribaut-Schloesser which can be enjoyed corkage free every Friday, for our weekly Champagne Friday.

fresh and fruity, with powerful notes of pear and yellow plum. It also possesses 20% oak aged reserve wine to give it a delicate wood flavour and more complexity. Then, 24 months of lees ageing adds texture and subtle notes of brioche.
