The Sauce Subscription - December '25

The December edition of the Whole Bunch Wines Sauce Subscription will showcase some proper winter warmers.

The weather outside is frightful, but all of our wines are so delightful.
We wanted to bring some classics to the Christmas table. Mendoza Malbec, red and white Rioja, Californian Zinfandel, Italian Soave.

All of these are guaranteed crowdpleasers to share with loved ones this time of year. Yet, they’re also wines with a nice bit of body and heft to warm the cockles on a cold Winter’s Night.

Merry Christmas Sauce Subs!

Red Wine

Finca Sandoval Fundamentalista [£30.50]

Here, we have a Spanish speciality from winemakers from Manchuela and Valencia. It is blended from 50% Bobal and co-fermented with four other grape varieties. All the wine is aged in 1000 litre amphora, rather than oak, which contributes to an aromatic and expressive palate. Wild red fruit, dried herbs and a hint of black olive. A really interesting wine.

Kaiken Winery comes from legendary Chilean winemaker Aurelio Montes. Kaiken Ultra Malbec is deep ruby red in colour, with purple tones and a wonderful display of rich aromas. The nose is enticing and spicy with black fruit and floral notes. Structured with soft tannins that lead to a finish that is fresh, complex and long.
